What does it mean to say that Jesus is both fully God and fully human? How do we talk about the Trinity in today’s world without getting lost in theological jargon? And what might these ancient doctrines mean for our ethics, politics, and hope for the future? Join us for an evening of deep exploration and spirited discussion as we dive into Jesus, Humanity, and the Trinity: A Systematic Theology in Brief by Professor Kathryn Tanner.

Tanner, the Frederick Marquand Professor of Systematic Theology at Yale Divinity School and a theological advisor to the House of Bishops, offers what one reviewer calls “a robust view of incarnation… preserving both the divinity and humanity of Jesus in a non-truncated way.”

Written with clarity and grace, Tanner’s book unpacks big ideas—Christology, the cosmos, and even the end of all things—in a way that’s accessible without being watered down. Whether you’re a theology nerd or just curious about how ancient Christian ideas speak to modern life, this conversation is for you.

You’re welcome to just show up in the church library—or, if you’d like to join via Zoom, contact the church office for the link.

Bring your questions, your wonderings, and maybe even your doubts. Let’s think together about who Jesus is—and what that means for us today.
