Worship Through Music
At St. Peter’s, music is more than just a tradition—it’s a spiritual practice that connects us with God and one another. Our vibrant music ministry welcomes singers of all ages and skill levels to join in joyful worship. We have groups for traditional choral nerds and contemporary worship song lovers alike.
Get ready for Summer Music…
Parish Choir
Our Parish Choir is a cornerstone of our music ministry, enriching our 8am Sunday service and special liturgies throughout the year. This mixed-voice ensemble includes professional and volunteer singers who come together each week to make beautiful music and deepen their spiritual lives. They focus on the Anglican choral tradition, singing a range of early and traditional music, with occasional forays into more modern repertoire.
Schedule
Thursday Rehearsal: 7pm–9pm (Choir Room)
Sunday Rehearsal: 7:15am–7:45am (Church)
Sunday Service: 8am (Church)
Family Choir
Our Family Choir is a joyful, intergenerational group made up of parents, children, grandparents, and friends, along with professional section leaders. Singing together builds connection, strengthens faith, and adds a special layer of meaning to our family-centered worship services. They sing each week for the Choral Eucharist at 9:30am on Sundays. During rehearsals, choir members learn basic music theory and singing techniques. We welcome everyone, especially those with little or no previous choral music experience.
Schedule
Thursday Rehearsal: 6:00pm-7:30pm (Choir Room)
Sunday Service: 9:30am-10:30am (Church)
Note: This choir does not rehearse on Sunday mornings because of the 8am service.
Children’s Choir
An extension of Godly Play every Sunday after the 9:30am service, our Children's Choir is a wonderful way to learn music and singing techniques for all children ages 3-10. We focus not only on foundational singing and breath techniques, but elementary music theory and even diving into the text of the music we are learning.
They join the Family Choir almost every Sunday for the Offertory Anthem at the 9:30am service, where their voices are supported and they are encouraged to contribute their musical gifts to aid in worship.
Schedule
Sunday Rehearsal: 10:45am - 11:15am
Sunday Service: 9:30am (Church)
