Kids at St. Peter’s

Where Kids Discover God’s Love Everyday

Wonder. Friendship. Faith that grows.

At St. Peter’s, we believe children are vital members of our community. From hearing Bible stories for the first time to exploring big questions about God, or finding friends who share their values, our youngest members are invited to discover a faith that’s personal, joyful, and rooted in the love of God.

Sunday School Registration Now Open

Raising young kids in today’s fast-paced world can feel overwhelming—between busy schedules, constant screen time, and the desire to raise kind, grounded children, many parents are searching for meaningful ways to nurture their child’s heart and character. That’s where Sunday School comes in. At St. Peter’s, our Sunday School programs offer a joyful, welcoming space where children can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and learn values like compassion, courage, and kindness—giving parents a supportive village along the way. Registration is now open, and we can’t wait to welcome your family!

Nursery for Infants & Toddlers

Playground area with a wooden building with solar panels on the roof, a small pink and blue playhouse, a picnic table, and trees in the background under a clear blue sky.

Every Sunday from 9am–12pm, loving nursery staff provide a safe, nurturing environment for babies and toddlers while parents attend worship and fellowship. All staff members are background checked and have complete the Safeguarding God’s People curriculum.

👉 Drop off begins at 9am in the Nursery, which is located near the North Patio and parking lot. No registration required—just come on in!

Godly Play for Pre-K – Grade 2

In our Godly Play Room, young children explore stories from the Bible through hands-on storytelling, art, and wonder-based reflection. It’s not just Sunday School—it’s sacred play that helps them make sense of faith on their own terms.

👉 Join us after the 9:30am service in the Godly Play Room, located upstairs in the Arts & Formation building. Newcomers always welcome!

Faith Explorers | Grades 3–6

Three children standing outdoors by a white fence, wearing black T-shirts with the phrase 'STAY SALTY.'; two boys and one girl smiling, with a dry grassy field and hills in the background on a sunny day.

Faith Explorers meet in the Multipurpose Classroom to engage the Bible with curiosity and creativity. Through storytelling, games, and open discussion, kids connect faith to their daily lives—and to each other.

👉 Come explore with us every Sunday after the 9:30am service. No prep needed—just show up ready to wonder.

Welcome in Church

Children are at the heart of what St. Peter’s is all about!  Kids of all ages are welcome in all services, and are invited to participate fully.  The Family Service is particularly family- oriented and includes a children’s sermon. We expect and welcome squirming and doodling on our special "prayground" rug located in the left transept of the church (near the piano).  We also provide baskets at entrances with clip boards, paper, and crayons.

Annual Events

  • Group of children and adults taking a selfie outdoors on sunny day in a grassy field.

    Camp Stevens

Each year, usually in March, we head up to Camp Stevens in Julian for a weekend of fun, fellowship, and s’mores! Registration is sent out ahead of time each year.

  • Children and adults dressed as angels, shepherds, kings, and other nativity characters on stage during a Christmas pageant.

    Christmas Pageant

What’s a kids’ program without a Christmas Pageant?! This one’s a crowd favorite and takes place each year in the Parish Hall just before Christmas. Gotta love those costumes!

Wednesday Lighthouse

Each Wednesday, our young families gather together in the Parish Hall from 4:30pm-6:30pm for Wednesday Lighthouse — a time of worship, food, and joyful fellowship. Not to mention the singing of our latest favorite “My Lighthouse.”
