Job Title:
Office Administrator (Part-Time)
Position Summary:
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Del Mar, California, seeks a reliable and welcoming Office Administrator to support the administrative and operational needs of the church. This vital, front-facing role helps ensure the smooth functioning of church life by assisting with logistics, communications, volunteers, and facilities. The Office Administrator plays an essential part in fostering a warm, organized, and mission-driven environment for parishioners and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist visitors and callers in a friendly, professional manner
Manage and maintain the church’s master calendar of events and services
Coordinate office volunteers
Administer facility rentals and liaise with external groups
Print weekly church bulletins and supplementary materials as needed.
Draft and manage email and mail correspondence
Monitor and manage church parking needs
Order and organize office supplies
Lock and secure the church campus at the end of each workday
Assist with special projects and general administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience using Canva and church management systems (e.g., Realm, Breeze) (preferred but not required)
Prior experience in a church or nonprofit office environment (preferred but not required)
Attributes:

Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Comptroller and works closely with other church staff, lay leaders, and volunteers. This position does not supervise other employees.
Work Schedule and Location:
Part-time: 20–25 hours per week
Schedule: 4 days per week, Mon-Thurs 10am-3pm
Location: On-site at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Del Mar, CA
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience
Part-time benefits include prorated holiday, vacation, retirement, and health care
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
Requires standing, walking, and occasional outdoor campus activity
End-of-day responsibilities include locking up buildings and securing the premises
