Vestry - Class of 2027

John "J.B." Scranton was born and raised in Walnut Creek, California, a Bay Area suburb. He first became connected with the Episcopal Church at St. Paul's in Walnut Creek as a youth. He earned a degree in ancient history at Boston University, where he was also involved in campus ministry. In fact, he lived in the rectory of his church during his senior year. He next went to San Diego to complete a law degree at USD. After graduation in 1999, J.B. returned to Walnut Creek for work where he re-connected with St. Paul's, eventually serving on the Vestry there for 3 years. Seeking a career change in 2003, J.B. enrolled in teacher college to become a high school history teacher. He has remained in this career for the last 20 years. J.B. has been blessed with 13 years of marriage to Missy, and is very proud of his two children: Dora (6), and Calvin (9) - one of St. Peter's newest acolytes.
