***Del Mar Community Memorial Day Service***

Speaker: Col. Pete Iverson, (USMC, Ret.) The service will conclude with a Memorial Roll Call and Taps. Please submit the names of service personnel to be remembered who have given their life for their country.

***Upcoming Events for Seniors on the Go.***

Please stop by the Seniors Table on the patio today to get information and to sign up for our upcoming programs. On May 29th and September 25th, there are bus trips to see two shows at the Lawrence Welk Theater, The King and I and An Irving Berlin Musical. Also please let us know if you would be interested in a trip to Mount Soledad with lunch in Little Italy, or if you have other suggestions for future programs. Contact: Nancy Atherton 858/755-4306. Checks should be made payable to Barbara Burch.

***Baptism.***

The next opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Baptism at Saint Peter’s will be at the 9.00am service on Trinity Sunday, May 18th; the Sunday nearest the Feast of John the Baptist, June 22nd; and the Sunday following the Transfiguration, August 10th. If you are interested in Baptism for yourself or a family member, please contact the clergy.

***Outreach.*** The parish will be providing hats and scarves to one hundred low-income seniors at the Community Resource Center at Christmas 2008. If you enjoy knitting and crocheting – and would like to help with this project – please contact Nancy Atherton at 858/755-4306.

***The Calling Committee*** The Calling Committee has been busy completing the various tasks necessary for preparing the Position Profile for the new rector and developing the Parish Profile. Sub-committees have been formed to oversee Budget, Communications, and the Writing of the Profile. The committee will continue to define and discuss key goals and challenges for the parish in order to complete the central elements of the Position and Parish Profiles.

***Prayer Team Ministry.*** Got a special prayer request? Bring it to our wonderful prayer team ministers after the service. They will be happy to pray with you. All you need to do is stand (or sit) with them for a moment or two. Tell them your request: good health, successful job search, whatever. They will not question you or make you feel in any way uncomfortable. Remember: When two or there are gathered together.

***Round Communion Wafers.*** Starting with our Easter service, we will begin using small, round communion wafers along with the large wafer at our services. The meaning of communion and the symbolism of the breaking of the bread remains.
