Matthew 25:40
Our mission is to show forth Christ’s love to those in need beyond our own parish community, addressing basic human needs for the lost, the least, and the forgotten.
The Ministry Team provides education for the congregation about national and global concerns; works to provide a voice for the powerless and underrepresented; and plans actions that promote relief and reconciliation. Our vision is to help bring about the Kingdom of God by helping to make the world more just and merciful.
This work is in support of the Episcopal Church’s ONE Campaign to eradicate poverty at home and in the world. This campaign is based on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted by all members of the United Nations in 2000. These goals are:
Achieve universal primary education
Promote gender equality and empower women
Reduce child Mortality
Improve maternal health
Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases
Ensure environmental sustainability
Develop a global partnership for development
Our focus began with a U2 Eucharist conducted at our regular 9:00 AM Sunday Family Service. At that time the Episcopal ONE Campaign was presented and everyone in attendance was given their own copy of the MDGs. A special collection raised $2000 for the Episcopal Relief and Development NetsforLife Campaign to eradicate Malaria in Africa. Future programs will continue to foster better understanding of the MDGs, as well as addressing issues that affect the environment and the promotion of affordable health care for all children
