Solo Journeys - A Singles Ministry

Mission:
Providing ministry to persons who are living single in the church.
Values:
Welcoming, Spirituality, Discipleship, Advocacy, Outreach
The Solo Journeys Ministry is meant to bring together all singles of St. Peter's and their friends to share in ministry and outreach, to have fun together according to individual interest, to support each other when needs arise, and form friendships in a comfortable community of Christian fellowship.
We look forward to spiritual enrichment programs, opportunities to break bread together, and participation in community outreach. We invite volunteers for events and activities. We encourage committee planning for monthly programs. We support one another as we plan and work together.
Solo Journeys is both a St Peter’s program and a diocesan wide program spearheaded by Saint Peter's. Currently the program at St Peter’s is led by Susie Hayes with a program planning team consisting of Richard Eckert, Sue Anderson, Sandy Hardcastle-Taylor, Barbara Burch, Nancy Atherton, and Cynthia Farwell. Vision:
-
1. To be included in the profile of the church (which primarily recognizes family units).
2. To be supported by our church leaders.
3. To provide strong professionally led training for single adults.
4. To be a flexible program that deals with this transitory population.
5. To develop a deeper understanding of the needs of the target population.
6. To develop scripture based programs that support single Christians.
7. To enable networking among singles by putting people in touch with one another.
8. To offer a balanced ministry including spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social issues.
9. To build a leadership team of singles who take ownership of the membership, assist in planning, and implementation.
10. To secure institutional dollars to make a viable program.
