Goodbye Mission Namibia, Hello Joy to the World Kindergarten
Joy to the World Kindergarten
Goodbye, dear Mission Namibia. You were wonderful. Hello, Joy to the World Kindergarten. Sherryl Parks and Alison Royle are going to co-lead a new effort to help support Sr. Gertrude and her precious little ones, age 3-6, at the mission school in Namibia, Africa. We are going to do everything we can to help the school become self-sustaining, including adding improvements to their fruit and veggie garden and chicken projects, but in the meantime, they need our support. By raising $9000 per year, we can make it possible for these 60+ kiddies, many of whom are HIV/AIDS orphans, to learn to sing, read, write, play and pray in their important, formative years before they are eligible to go to the government school. By providing 3 hot lunches per week we can help make them happy, healthy learners. We are excited and hope that you will be as well. Keep your ear out for more information and for ways to join in the fun. Many thanks for many blessings,
Sherryl and Alison
Hi friends of Joy to the World Kindergarten: Recently we held our book sale, using David King's adorable book cart. This book sale will be held on the third Sunday of each month, using the cart,] boxing the books the Saturday prior to the sale and cleaning up after the 12 o'clock service. If we can rotate this duty, I believe the book sales will net $500-600 by December, when St. Peter's holds the 'Alternative Market for Christmas' gifting (and there will not be our book sale that month). Here are the dates for the Sunday book sales through the end of the year:August 15, September 19, Oct 17, November 21. Can you volunteer to help sell the books on any of these dates (time slot is 8 am - 11)? Let me know. Thanks for all that you are doing to help our 70 Namibian kids get a hearty meal while attending the kindergarten.Sherryl Parks (858) 755-2614
