CELEBRATION OF GRATITUDE! Our Annual Parish Meeting, an UPDATE

We Celebrated Gratitude! We Celebrated Ministry!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Parish Family Reunion at the

Annual Meeting!

2009 Annual Report and  Candidate Information

Please mark your calendars for February 20, at 4 p.m., as we continue our Celebration of Gratitude, and hold our Annual Parish Meeting. All are welcome, and all communicants in good standing are eligible to vote (see Jan S&T for more information on voting membership).
This is a change from the Saturday night-Sunday afternoon day-long meetings of the past, and for several reasons.
First, our hope is to have the Whole Family of God at St. Peter's together for this Annual Meeting, instead of having several, fractional meetings over the course of the weekend. Our hope is that this meeting will be a Celebration of Gratitude, as well, making a new format crucial. (Who says the administrative work of the church needs to be dry and predictable? )
Second, this will allow us to have a First Lent! Our tradition has been to have this Meeting the weekend after Diocesan Convention. This weekend is First Lent, a significant time in the life of our faith, which needs not be compromised by impacting all of our services of worship that weekend. The 5 p.m. Saturday service will be part of our Celebration, and the other three services will be traditional First Lent observances.
Third, we are attempting to include more people, by giving early notice (last month's Spirit and Times), by having the meeting all one time, and to have an activity for children (an event by the Helen Woodward Animal Center!) so that younger families may participate. Those who do not wish to drive after dark may call the Parish Office (858 755 1616) and we will arrange transportation. Sunset will be at about 6 p.m. on the 20th, around the time the Celebration will adjourn.
This promises to be a joy-filled Celebration. We look forward to seeing you there!

In Christ,

Paige+
