Anne Page - Children & Young Families Minister
Anne was born and attended school in England and came to the United States in 1981. She first attended St. Peter’s in 1982 when the second of her three children were baptized. As a parishioner Anne has participated in several of St. Peter’s programs including Education for Ministry, Order of St. Luke, Healing Team, Daughters of the King and Sarah’s Circle but there has always been a special place in her heart for children. She became trained as a Godly Play teacher then helped to start the program at St. Peter’s first with just one class, then, as she trained others, a second class was opened. She taught Sunday school for 11 years until she was offered the position of Children and Young Families Minister. Anne has been in this position for two years and she says it fills her with such joy each Sunday to see families engaging with other on the patio and children’s smiling faces in Sunday school classes. She oversees the operating and running of the Sunday school, leads Children’s Church twice a month and is very much involved in the Baptismal ministry. She organizes intergenerational events like the monthly Faithful Family program where all ages are invited to share pancake breakfasts, guest musicians, advent wreath making and many more fun activities. She also oversees special Children’s Ministry events like the Bingo and Spaghetti Night and Family Gatherings where young families are given the opportunity to get to know each other in more informal settings and an annual Snow event where members from the local community are invited to play at St. Peter’s in real snow. Anne is affectionately called by the Rector, St. Peter’s own “Mary Poppins”.
