This Week At Saint Peter's
Myanmar Relief: Our hearts go out to the people of Myanmar, so devastated by the recent cyclone. If you wish to contribute to relief efforts throught the Church, please make your check to "St. Peter's" and notate "ERD Myanmar."
Trinity Sunday Baptisms: Next Sunday, May 18th, is Trinity Sunday. There will be several baptisms at the 9:00 a.m and 11:00 a.m. services. Welcome our newest members into our parish family! If you, or a family member, are interested in Baptism, please contact a member of our clergy.
Environmental Stewardship invites you and your friends of all ages to be a part of our work party on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We will be contributing to the preservation of a very special place for wildlife, flora and visitors in the nearby San Dieguito River Park just across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Our group will be led by the Resource Specialist of the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Bring your sunscreen, hat and gloves. Solo Journey Brunch next Sunday, May 18th at 11:00 a.m. One special way to celebrate spring is to treat ourselves to a delectable brunch at the lovely Grand Del Mar Golf Frille Restaurant! Not only is the food sumptuous, the atmosphere overlooking the golf course, is one that is refreshingly tranquill.

The King And I At the Lawrence Welk Theater in North County. Thursday, May 29th, has several available places for those who are not necessarily Seniors but would like to join us. The price is $52, which includes the bus, bus driver's gratuity, lunch, tip and show. Now that's what I call a deal! Coffee Hour. You will soon be noticing a small basket next to the coffee urns for donations to defray the cost of coffee and donuts after our services. Thank you for your understanding...and donations! Contact: Molly Stone.
The Process of Forgiveness, a day with Fr. William Meninger, a Trappist monk, who has published books and audio presentations related to Centering Prayer. Music and Speaking Scholarships Auditions for Young People. The Annual Lawrence Waddy Auditions will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral, Saturday, May 17th. Auditions are open to young talent ages eight through twelve from Episcopal churches in the Diocese of San Diego. Deadline for applications is Friday, May 9th. Baptism. The next opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Baptism at Saint Peter's will be on Trinity Sunday, May 18th and Sunday, July 27th. If you are interested in Baptism for yourself or a family member, please contact the clergy.

Senior Lunch. The next Senior Lunch will be on Tuesday, May 20th, at Noon in the Parish hall. Corinne Holt Sawyer, local mystery writer, will be our speaker. Her mysteries take place in and around a Senior Retirement Community not unlike Carlsbad by the Sea, and her main characters are retirees who live there. Suzie Iliff will be fixing corned beef and cabbage; Deb Monark will be fixing soda bread. Celebrating the Art of Caring. All volunteers and supporters of the Interfaith Shelter Network's Rotational Shelter Program and El Nido Transitional Living Program are invited to a special event celebrating the Art of Caring on Wednesday, May 21st from 5:30-7:30pm at the San Diego Watercolor Society at Point Loma's Liberty Station, 2825 Dewey Road, Suite 2105. There will be light refreshments, silent auction and entertainment.
Del Mar Community Memorial Day Service, Colonel Peter Iverson (USMC, Ret.) will be our
guest speaker at the annual Del Mar Community Memorial Day Service here on Monday,
May 26 at 11:00am. Please inform the church office or the clergy the names of deceased
military members, so that they maybe remembered and prayed for during this important

J.S. Bach's B minor Mass with the Bach Collegium San Diego (A Chorus and Period Instrument Ensemble), under the direction of our very own Ruben Valenzuela, is fast approaching! The performances will take place on Sunday, June 8th (4:00 pm) and Monday, June 9th (7:00 pm) at St James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, La Jolla. Tickets will be on sale on the patio following the 9:00am and 11:00am service throughout April and May. Get your tickets now!
Encinitas Rotary Club Wine Festival. Enjoy fine wines, local microbrews, beverages from around the world, and cuisine from many of our favorite local restaurants at the same time you help one of our parish outreach ministries! St. Luke's Refugee Network is one of the charities that have been selected to benefit from Encinitas Rotary Club's Wine Festival at Quail Botanical Gardens, Saturday, May 31, from 5:00-8:00pm. Order your tickets by using one of the forms found on the patio bulletin board or in the church office. Make sure to check the box next to Sudanese Refugee Network, so that this ministry to the Lost Boys and other refugees will receive a portion of the ticket price.
