St. Peter’s is a strong supporter of Joy to the World Kindergarten in Namibia, Africa. Every year we are giving many children in Namibia an important head start in life, preparing them to enter the first grade in public school. Our financial support helps to provide 3 nutritious hot lunches per week; jobs for a cook, 2 teachers, and a handyman; uniforms for the orphans; supplies for the school; and the fruit & veggie garden and chicken projects. We know our support is making a lasting effect on the children’s learning abilities and their overall health and well- being. Chaired by Alison Royle and Cathy Straitiff, they had another very successful year raising funds by sponsoring a monthly book sale, sending out an e-mail appeal, putting reports in the Spirit & Times, participating in the Alternative Christmas Markets at St. Peter’s, and making slideshow presentations at several different venues. If you would like to participate in this ministry please contact Alison Royle and Cathy Straitiff.
