“IT’S IN THE BAGS!” 6th ANNUAL FOOD COLLECTION – Pick up your bags this weekend!: September is National Hunger Action Month and time to “educate, advocate, donate and alleviate hunger” in America. Over 400,000 of our neighbors in San Diego County are food insecure and need our help! Please pick up specially-marked brown paper bags near the church doors for your home, office or organization and collect non-perishables in the bags, returning them brimming with food on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21, when our “harvest” will be blessed at the altar and delivered to the Community Resource Center to help our neighbors in this local area. Checks are very welcome too, payable to St. Peter’s with “It’s In The Bags!” on the memo line and can be mailed to the office or placed in the collection plate. Over the past five years you have generously donated funds and over 10,000 pounds of much-needed food. Thank you for sharing your family’s bounty. Please contact Gina McBride at 760-633-1183 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.

SUPPER CLUB 2014-15 IS COMING – Still time to sign up! Sign up on the patio to join 8 -10 fellow parishioners for a year of fellowship and good eats. The goal is to get to know others at St. Peter’s with whom you may not have had a chance to spend time. A group meets about every 4 to 6 weeks to share supper from October through May or June. Usually, groups decide to rotate hosting a potluck supper among homes. Supper club is open to all adult singles and couples. We hope that parents of younger children will find time to join. You may also sign up on the substitute list if you’d like to be included but cannot commit to a group. For more information or to sign up, email Karin Riggs, Supper Club chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
