ST. PETER’S BUDGET 101 – THIS SUNDAY'S FORUM: Do you ever wonder what the sources are for St. Peter’s $1.12M annual operating budget? Do you wonder where your pledge dollars go and how decisions are made about where we allocate funds? Are you curious about what ministries in our community and in the world St. Peter’s supports with your help? Our treasurer, Dave Clemons, will discuss these and other topics at the forum this Sunday, July 27, 10:10-11:00 am in the Parish Hall.
ANOTHER SPECIAL THANKS TO THE PARDEES!!! Our blessings and thanks again go out to long-time members of the parish, Douglas and Marianne Pardee. Thanks to their extremely generous gift, St. Peter’s now has a fire-resistant roof. Mr. and Mrs. Pardee attended St. Matthew’s in Pacific Palisades before coming to St. Peter’s. Years ago St. Matthew’s original building, (which looked much like ours at St. Peter’s), was destroyed in a fire. Mr. and Mrs. Pardee’s gift has allowed us to take measures to ensure that we are doing all we can to prevent such a heartbreaking situation here. Thank you, so much, Mr. and Mrs. Pardee, for your loving generosity!
PATTI WASHAM MEMORIAL SERVICE: The memorial service for our friend and parishioner Patti Washam will be held at St. Peter’s at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 26.

AUGUST FORUMS: From Jesus of Nazareth to Christianity in America. Please join us at 10:00 am in the Parish Hall, as Hank George presents this three-part series tracing the origins and development of Christianity to its modern forms as practiced in North America. The series is an exploration of a world religion and a search for the following answers: Who was Jesus of Nazareth? How did his followers grow and develop a belief system? How did this belief system vary through time? How is this faith practiced in North America? What are the elements of a church community, parish, or congregation?

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEENAGERS THIS SUMMER AT ST. PETER’S THRIFT SHOP: St. Peter’s Thrift Shop is looking for reliable teenagers to volunteer a minimum of two hour shifts during the summer months. We realize many of our teens are very busy with sports and academics during the school year and summer is a terrific time to get those pesky service hours out of the way. There are a wide variety of tasks, including tagging clothing items, straightening shelves, helping transport items in/out of the shop or to customers’ cars. For additional information or to sign up, contact Chris Miller, Shop Manager, at 858-481-1945 or on her cell at 760-445-9445.
EPISCOPAL WEEKLY BULLETIN INSERTS: These weekly bulletin inserts provide information about the history, music, liturgy, mission, and ministry of The Episcopal Church and can be found at http://episcopaldigitalnetwork.com/stw/bulletin-inserts/. On July 22, the Episcopal Church celebrates the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, a leader among the women who followed Jesus. Mary Magdalene, also called Mary of Magdala and the Magdalene, began following Jesus in Galilee after he healed her, and she remained with him throughout his ministry until his crucifixion, then was one of the first witnesses to his resurrection.
