Youth Ministry at St. Peter's involves formation, fellowship and service.Summer Mission Trip: McDermitt, Nevada

All students who are currently in 7th-8th grade are eligible to live their faith in action through this special mission trip to better the life of a Native American Indian reservation. If you would like more information, contact Rev. Paige Blair at pblair@stpetersdelmar.net. More information can be found at www.sierraserviceproject.org.
Sunday Mornings at 10:00 am, we have two youth classes led by volunteers. Our 7-8th grade class is led by Betty Collins, Pat McCardle and Barbara McCardle, which begins their journey through confirmation this year and in the course of four years will plan and participate in a pilgrimage. Our 9-12th grade class is run by Martha and David King. These classes run September - June

Confirmation and Pilgrimage is another important aspect of youth ministry in our parish. Beginning in 8th grade our youth can choose to enter our Confirm Not Conform program which begins their journey to confirmation. We also use the book "Jesus Was An Episcopalian (and you can be one too!)" for our confirmation preparation. Over the course of the next three years, the youth are confirmed and continue learning through this community. To conclude their journey of confirmation, our youth attend a pilgrimage, which the youth help determine. Past pilgrimages have included England, Canterbury, and the Holy Land, so really any location is a possibility for the pilgrimage.
Youth Ministry Team consists of eight lay ministers who believe in the importance of youth ministry at St. Peter's. We meet to review the current and future youth programs. Each of these people is highly dedicated to the success of our ministry to youth and oversee specific areas of our ministry.
