The Parish Choir of St Peter's Church, consisting of professional and volunteer singers, sings at the weekly Choral Eucharist, the quarterly Solemn Eucharist, monthly Choral Evensongs, and other principal services throughout the year. The Parish Choir's primary responsibility is to lend support to the musical rendering of the liturgy, whether it be the singing of the Ordinary of the Mass or supporting the hymns and service music sung by the congregation. The choir's repertoire of liturgical music is varied and diverse, ranging from the earliest known medieval music, through music of the 21st century. The choir takes the core of its repertory from the English choral tradition representing such composers as Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Henry Purcell, C.V. Stanford, C.H.H Parry, Herbert Howells, and others.
