WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: A nine-week study in the book of 1 John, “God’s Love Through You” explains the transforming power of Jesus’ love in our life. Beginning Thursday January 8 at the home of Connie Hays in Solana Beach, and beginning Monday, January 12 at the home of Diane Czajkowski in Encinitas. Each study is 1:00 – 2:30 pm. The studies are written in an easy-to-use format for the new and mature Christians alike. The study is designed to be used with The Abundant Life Bible, and will be used for all future studies. Page numbers are given to make finding the Bible references easy. Bibles and study books are available for purchase at $8.00 each and will be collected at our first session. Please respond by January 3 to 858-793-0104 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
COUPLES’ COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP: St. Peter’s will be hosting a Couples Communication Workshop in the Parish Hall on Saturday, January 31, from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. The workshop will be based on PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program), one of the most comprehensive, evidence-based and well-respected marriage enhancement programs in the world. PREP is based on over twenty-five years of research, funded in part by the National Institute of Mental Health, indicating that the best predictor of divorce is destructive styles of arguing. Registration is required (call 858-755-1616) and is limited to 20 couples ($40 per couple). Facilitators: The Rev. F. P. Munoz; Ms. Gail Carr, LMFT; Ms. Susan Pliner, Cognitive Psychologist.
SOUP-ER BOWL SUNDAY: Super Bowl Sunday, February 1, will be Soup-er Bowl Sunday here at St. Peter’s! At all services that weekend, we’ll be collecting cans of soup, any size, any kind, which will be donated to the food pantry at Encinitas Community Resource Center, one of our outreach ministries. Plan on being away that weekend? Not to worry...we’ll also be collecting soup the previous weekend, January 24 and 25. Just put the soup into the large cardboard box labeled “Soup-er Bowl Sunday” out on the patio. For more information call Joan Bond, 858-279-5458, or email email@example.com.
FEBRUARY 8: Mark your calendars for St. Peter’s Annual Meeting beginning at 10:00 am. Register for the Annual Meeting and obtain your ballot any time after the 7:45 service. You must be present at the meeting vote and will not be able to cast your ballot until they are collected during the Annual Meeting (State of California laws, not ours). Elect four (4) new Vestry members and five (5) Delegates to the November 2015 Diocesan Convention. Polls will close at 10:30 am.

COME BUILD HOPE – MEMORIAL DAY 2015: This is a 6-month countdown to May 22-24 to build homes for needy families in Mexico. Six months ago four of us from St. Peter’s joined 313 other volunteers in building 16 new casas near Rosarito Beach as part of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church’s Come Build Hope project. Please save the dates now, if you are interested. We will provide a monthly notice over the next several months. If you’d like more information, go to the SBPC website at www.solanapres.org, click on “What We Do,” then “Serve and Give,” then “Come Build Hope.” There are tons of photos, a video and other links to information for participants.
